Vietnam cement exports drop 10.8% in 1H24

Between 2019 and 2022, the average export value of cement and clinker ranged from US$1bn to US$1.3bn annually. However, in 2023, export earnings sharply declined due to falling prices. Total Vietnam cement sales, including domestic and export, for April amounted to 8.541Mt, a 7.7 per cent MoM and 4.6 per cent YoY increase, up from 7.931Mt in March and 8.164Mt in April 2023.  Domestic sales in Vietnam rose 11.5 per cent MoM and 1.4 per cent YoY to 5.699Mt in April 2024. Cement sales in Indonesia amounted to 5.678Mt in May. This is an increase of 11.2 per cent YoY compared to the 5.008Mt reported a year earlier.
